Disclaimer

Black Dragon is MY Viewer, i decide which feature i want to add and which to remove, i share this Viewer to show the world that user base size is not important, i do rate quality by effort, thought and love put into the project, not some rough estimated numbers. I consider feature requests only if i you can name proper valid reasons i can agree on. It is my (unpaid) time i'm putting into this project, i'm not here to cater to every Joe's desires.

Not so bright future...

Well , i havnt had a good start into new year , additionally i was told a whole story i would have never believed which hit me extremly hard ...then theres also my pathetic failing at trying to deliver you the best graphics in SL , as of Exodus´s new Release with Tone Mapping , Floating Point Object Buffers , HDR , Gamma Correction , Vignette Effect and tons of other awesome features i have simply been stomped to a pancake...

Im very ill at the moment (not directly physically) ...love really hit me with a baseball bat on my head , my whole life became pointless and goalless , i will probably retreat for an unknown time , maybe its a week , maybe 2 , maybe a month ...maybe i will never come back , everything is absolutely unsure now , i guess you know how someone feels when love breaks up , now add another one or two levels of hurt on it... anyway i might continue my Viewer internally , so keep an eye on Bitbucket for eventual updates ... when i ever regain my strength to continue i will probably instantly release a new Version with probably a lot of changes , you might wanna take a look at Exodus to find out what i mean with all those graphic effects and why they render my viewer totally unable to be compared when used right , if there are any questions , please use my group to ask i will try to answer

  1. Don't give up Niran, your work is amazing, I like your interface better. Maybe you can combine best of the two?

  2. Honestly maybe I'm odd but I have to say that I feel your graphics are better and faster than what I'm seeing in Exodus...would be a shame to see you discontinue your work based on perception when actually I think many people will agree you have graphics quality down pat...

  4. Don't worry about Exodus, Niran, their user base is combat game oriented not photography/machinima oriented....once they see how all that eyecandy slows their computers down and makes them easy targets in combat they will have little interest in it.

Get back up on the horse as soon as you can and stick to it. Do what you love to do...In Your World, Your Imagination !

  5. I have now tested the Exodus for a few hours and constantly compared with Niran's viewer. The softness of the movements and the image is clearly more comfortable on Niran's viewer. Exodus has taken a giant step forward but in terms of graphical perfection, I still prefer Nirans viewer!

  6. A lot of viewers were better before till one comes and get something others havent. Remember that Emerald Viewer started as a mix of all patches adn features released for others viewers. What if Exodus have all that? Your can too!!

Dont give up my friend. I know how the love strikes in our heart. I was in a long relation for more than 2 years with the perfect girl till she kick me out of her live. Im still looking for what to do on my life, I think is really hard to do something by yourself when you havent someone to fight for. But here we are and we will continue.

Dont give up, tkae your time and back as stronger as psosible. Now that I definitely want to give a try to your viewer you cant disapear ;)

    Cheers, Kitsune Shan.-

  7. Take a break to get things back on tracks. Sometimes it is needed.
But please, come back as soon as you can.

Nirans Viewer is my favorite for taking photos or movies for my blog. Sure, Exodus is good too, but it does not render as pretty as yours.

  8. Niran, real life always comes first and I offer my sympathies that love has given you a kick in the teeth.

I do hope that a break will help you and make you able to handle things and the future will not look so bleak.

As for your viewer, please do not give up on it. Exodus as other have said is not much to do with graphics, and like Firestorm etc they have totally different goals to you, so therefore to compare them is not even in the same ball park.

I think your viewer has filled the void that Kirsten's left and I will cross my fingers that you will return to it, but at the moment as long as it works, and it does, it looks awesome decent FPS, then I won't be switching. Specially to a viewer that is combat orientated, so not my thing.

I hope things improve for you soon, take care Niran

  9. I've been using your viewer non-stop since I first caught wind of its arrival.

Its speed, graphics and stability has kept me glued to it for the past few months.

It would be a shame to see such an innovate and well-compiled viewer go to waste.

I hope your real-life problems get sorted soon and see you back to your old-self again.
Good luck with the new-year, hopefully it goes on better than it has started.
