I take your privacy very seriously, aiming to protect it. I will never sell or give out your email or any of the data i collect. (Neither my blog nor the Forum or the Viewer collects any information beyond those that are collected by default such as crashes, disconnects, website visits etc.)
Blog:
My blog collects standard information regarding post visits, blog visits and other user statistics like of which country the IP is from, other than that i do not have any access to any Account information or passwords used for the forum, the blog (Google account) or Second Life.
Viewer:
The Viewer itself only maintains all normal connections a default Viewer of Linden Labs would also do (except Login screen which does connect to Youtube to display the Login screen video). I do not store or receive any user logins, names or passwords. The Viewer does not connect to any additional servers or services to download anything needed for the Viewer, everything needed is already delivered within the installer file and therefor no additional connections are needed.
Repository:
I only build from source that is available on our Bitbucket repository and it is my only repository. I aim to be 100% open and transparent for everyone. However there might be additional forks of the active repository to test features or merge them if the time has come for these to be implemented, those can be found in the Forks/Queues tab.
Note:
If any of the above are to change we will update this policy first before any changes are made.

is this viewer safe? I checked to download but I got a message that files are too big to being properly checked for viruses. *shrugs*
ReplyDeleteGenerally speaking, nothing is truly safe ever. There could always be someone hacking into the page you download it from and do some shady stuff, or intercept the page you go to and send you to a fake one instead with a modified package.
DeleteIn this case however, as long as you download it from the page linked here on the blog it should be fine. Google Drive just notes that the file is too big to be automatically scanned by Google (above 100MB i think). If in doubt you can just upload it to VirusTotal or have the download link checked with VirusTotal which will go through a lot of common Antivirus apps. So far all Virus detections have been "potential" ones and all of them false-positive. I've started pushing the installer packages to Microsoft's security center as well so they can check it and have Windumb Defender stop going crazy about a simple WinRar package with SFX Installer addon and automatically delete it every time you download it.
im trying to download it with my MacBook and its now letting me download it. Is there a BD download
ReplyDeleteversion for Mac book?
There is no Mac or Linux version.
DeleteI cannot get into the BD app because I forgot my password and i need a new one to log in. Where do I reset password? Thank you.
