Black Dragon is MY Viewer, i decide which feature i want to add and which to remove, i share this Viewer to show the world that user base size is not important, i do rate quality by effort, thought and love put into the project, not some rough estimated numbers. I consider feature requests only if i you can name proper valid reasons i can agree on. It is my (unpaid) time i'm putting into this project, i'm not here to cater to every Joe's desires.

Beta 3

just a little bugfix release , and WIP changes you wont see as normal user, the fixes include correct glow settings again (i found the bug i accidentally set max alpha glow to 0.36 instead of 0.036 which made glow EXTREME) , fixed Project S19 default settings , meaning that all bottom buttons should be hidden now and project S19 should be active as default , aswell as some other little options....and the last fix is a desyncronisation between your clicks and the actual click-hit position which was caused by forcing the chatbar to be BEHIND the Voice controls as default....i forgot that moving the Chatbar as default will cause the whole "screen" to move making you click on yourself and hitting the ground a few pixels away instead of yourself this build is mainly good for people that noticed those above bugs and for new people that will be shocked at start with the glow settings (not on my watch! not anymore)

  1. The beta3 is looking good so far except for a couple of things.

    1) The buttons at the bottom, although mostly gone have a couple of things....

    a) When you right click it still brings up a mostly greyed out menu

    b) The build button is still there except it just says B on it

    2) The floaters at the top while very nice where has my camera button/floater gone? (by this I don't mean the snapshot button, I mean the move my camera around button)

  2. I found the work around.

If you have any buttons on the bottom bar, you can go into preferences--->viewer---->UI settings and turn off any of the bottom buttons, instantly gone, and of course your using the S19 project, which you can also turn on and off.

Since there is NO camera/view floater you can turn on the camera button on the bottom bar and thus bring the camera settings up for all you photographers etc

I am pretty sure there is probably a keyboard shortcut as well, but I can't remember what it is.

  3. real photographers dont use the cam controls :) i never used them , they are extremly unprecise and useless , i wrote a tutorial how to use Cam without those , i will probably do a tutorial video aswell

  5. Well that's all nice Niran, but I use them for other things, and it would be nice to have the floater button for it. I mean there is lots of features and things people do and do not use which you may or may not use.

Sorry and all that but I thought I'd let you know these things were not right. Didn't know you had deliberately not put it in.

  6. i will probably add the move/cam button later , but dont forget that i always have to keep in mind to watch out for los resolution people , the UI must not be too big , and even if those buttons up there are just small , they can fill up the screen easily ... will try to make it activatable , if it works as intended i will add them

  7. im always open for ideas , but i will also comment those ideas , if its possible or if there could be problems , and if it makes sense to implement those , i dont want to bloat this Viewer with too much useless stuff like Phoenix/Firestorm/Imprudence etc do , i also want to show people with this Viewer that it doesnt take lots of tiny shiny super options like a uber mega radar with lots of information no one needs to know , i just want to keep it mostly V2 and show people "hey , this is V2 , that doesnt mean its bad"

  8. I totally agree with you Niran. A bloated viewer or a cluttered UI is not very nice and will put people off. There is a fine line between useful and just there for bells and whistles.

I apologize if I sounded a little harsh it was not my intention since I think this viewer is very very good. It has just the right amount of stuff, it's just I personally happen to use the camera button an awful lot for various reasons.

Please keep up the good work as I don't really want to switch to any other viewer unless it happens to be KV (which you know already)

So far the viewer is very stable, quick rezzing and the inventory loads very well. The only dwelling question is regarding the use of OpenGL 4.2 or at least the ability to use a driver that runs 4.2 without so many crashes. I am sure there is possibly a link to something somewhere if you don't wish to reply regarding it.

Good work Niran and thank you for responding to my posts.

  9. Alright, so I don't know if I have a setting wrong here, but I just went to change my outfit and when I right click, if I am wearing part of the outfit it come up with the ability to "take off - remove from current outfit", however once everything is removed and even when wearing other things, the right click "wear outfit - replace current outfit" and "wear outfit - add to current outfit" remain greyed out and unclickable.

I have never seen this before, so I could have somehow turned it off.

  10. well the outfit system works in 2 seperate sections , the actual stuff you wear , and the "outfit" the viewer is thinking you are wearing , if you replace with XYZ outfit the viewer will mark this outfit as worn and will save as this outfit if you click just save, you can now put off stuff and put on new stuff , the viewer is still counting it as you are wearing XYZ outfit , as far as i know it just marks an worn outfit as not worn anymore when ALL parts of it have been completly taken off OR you clicked another outfit and replaced it , so switching between outfits , adding stuff , taking stuff off of a few outfits can make the outfit system look totally confusing because you are wearing a nearly totally different AV but its still saying you are wearing XYZ instead of ZXY or something else , this will also reflect on your available options when right clicking , making stuff not replacable even if you could do so... another big point causing option madness are the things you are wearing, wearing a colorfull mix of everything , all kinds of objects , prims , clothes , shapes , eyes , hairs etc can make those options turn greyed aswell as not all of them are "addable" or "wearable" ... i often got outfit problems turning many options to grey , leaving me completly blank there without anything attached and still i couldnt replace or wear something , sometimes because of lag

  11. so , no its not an option you borked , its just extreme deep outfit system logic ...hard to explain ...to make the whole thing short , the viewer is probably just thinking you still wear Test1 outfit and because of this options for this outfit have been disabled as the viewer thinks you are already wearing it

  12. Thank you Niran, just not seen it happen before, even after I took everything off, still no option on any outfit to simply wear it.

Would something like a cache clear etc work, or does it just have to be accepted?

  13. i dont think that a cache clear can fix this , so i guess you have to accept it , or try another wearing/replacing other outfits
