This includes a lot of fixes a huge bunch of additions of old and new features and a little new rendering thing.
As usual i need a lot more feedback like with the previous version. Some things are still WIP if not all but they advanced a lot as you may notice. This update also includes the recently released "Interesting Project" from Linden Labs so expect bugs and a really laggy direct avatar camera movement (sadly :/, i hope they fix that).
You can find the Changelog here or on the right side of this blog in the 'Link' section.
I'm sorry that it took a bit longer, sudden tiredness and some last minute tests to make sure the Viewer runs did their job at postponing this a bit.
More detailed info will be coming soon in extra posts, until then i will leave it open to you to explore all the new things.
I've not had chance to go into detail on it but there is something I noticed.
ReplyDeleteWhen you right click at the top, when you untick "show naviagtion and favourites bar" the bar shows up, behind the fancy toolbars you've done. Which makes the co-ordinates and parcel permissions show up but can't really read them.
I might be doing something wrong there, so if so apologies. I must admit I am missing the nice bar with the sim name etc across the top. So far the rest is looking smooth, I still have to check out all the godrays and things like that, but it certainly seems as stable.
I think also I might have to fiddle with glow settings, since specially on night skies, stuff seems to GLOW!
Damn, i knew i missed something. You're not supposed to tick any of those "show navigation/favorites/minilocationbar" thingies, they are all broken and will show the mini locationbar which is broken because it will get removed at some point anyway.
DeleteShowing the navigationbar is done way easier than right clicking anything. Just click at the top middle of your screen between the 2 black Topbar corners. Alternatively you can just use the Navigationbar button i included as default into the top toolbar layout and the toolbar selection.
If your stuff glows at night you definitely broke your glow settings. Best way is to completely wipe all your settings, we had this before, turned all values to default and it still wasn't fixed, easiest way is just to wipe everything and go with the default directly, saves a lot time of fiddling which usually comes to no solution.
Ok, I totally missed the navi thing, Sorry Niran :). I'll test it better on my home machine.
ReplyDeleteFYI, about 30 seconds after posting, I went to the preferences and clicked all the default buttons and the glow shit stopped. So yea that was my work computer being a pain. Anyway will get back to you if i find anything else,
Loving it so far
only thing I noticed so far (after 1 minute of experimenting) is that FPS at the top-right corner were fixed at 10
ReplyDeleteIt sometimes breaks. Havn't found a fix yet.
Deletelove the mini-toolbar at top left and show navbar.
ReplyDeleteFPS got stuck at 10 first time but has been fine since then.
Graphics look wonderful. some bugs which i think are in the official viewer like some clothing doesnt render (shoes, sunglasses, jewelry a re-attach fixes that).
audio stream switches on and off with media toggle button.
I still can't get the audio stream to auto-play. I start at say Dance Island, toggle audio on (button goes to pause) then tp to Beachwood -- the audio stream stops and and the toggle button goes to play.
I also re-pro'd on my own parcel. Toggled the audio stream on then went to about land and changed the audio stream url. The current stream faded out, the media toggle went back to play and the new stream didnt start.
Hope that helps.
Your FPS didn't get stuck. Just the counter. Still in process of figuring out why...
DeleteHavn't seen clothes not showing up, just not entirely loading (stuck in low LOD), right clicking fixes it. Could be that i need to clear my cache which i havn't done with the new Interesting Project implemented.
I will visit Dance Island and TP to Beachwood to check that out.
My FPS counter work very well, and the FPS is amazing high! Great job Niran.
DeleteBut I will love you just if you one day change your mind on the worn tab in inventory
What is the "Download Repository" in the downloads section and is it something needed?
ReplyDeleteIt's not needed for usage, the Repository Download is for downloading the Sourcecode.
DeleteA preview is not smooth when I take a snapshot with a freeze-frame mode. I want to make a fine adjustment after freezing. More sensitive framing is necessary. But this is a great viewer mostly.
ReplyDeleteFreeze Frame is bullshit anyway. It's on my list of things that will get kicked around more than twice in 2.4.
DeleteVery nice your viewer NiranV Dean, just i can't found the rain (time) , if you can specify which one is i will appreciate, thanks !

Deletehow do I get the rain to show on here like yours?
ReplyDeleteIt's not a Viewer side effect. That video was recorded on a SIM called H22O where this extremely rainy weather is showcased with a black and white like environment.
DeleteHello, I have been trying to download this, but it just pops up saying, they want to know what program I want to use to open. What can I do to fix this, is there anther download site?
ReplyDeleteTry downloading it with chrome or open/extract it with WinRar/7zip manually.
Delete& how do I open/extract it with WinRAR. Is there instructions/tutorial?
DeleteRight-Click on it -> Extract files... -> select a folder you want to "install" it to and press OK.
DeleteGo to that folder and start it from there.
OR
Download it with a different browser with default settings.
