Black Dragon is MY Viewer, i decide which feature i want to add and which to remove, i share this Viewer to show the world that user base size is not important, i do rate quality by effort, thought and love put into the project, not some rough estimated numbers. I consider feature requests only if i you can name proper valid reasons i can agree on. It is my (unpaid) time i'm putting into this project, i'm not here to cater to every Joe's desires.

2.0 (2136) Beta 3

ok guys last beta until release!

i fixed the topbar windlight buttons , regio light and some other things aswell as implemented some suggestions for the new preferences panel, the old preferences floater is from now on GONE. COMPLETLY! DONT SEARCH FOR IT.

This Beta is for testing the new stuff and reporting the remaining few little UI bugs if you find some. I will try to fix them while finishing the Release which is basically just fleshing out the UI and translating everything to German.

sorry the download is on dropbox this time , sourceforce somehow cant manage to fully upload @.@

enjoy,
Niran

    1. Spellchecking is a bit ...complex to uhm activate yea... i posted a tutorial a while ago , it was in german however. For now there wont be the ability to set preferences in Login, thats not a bug nor intended. But i will do another prefs panel with minimal important settings someday

  5. I really think you should put a built in AO thing like just about every other Viewer has, I would love you forever if that happened

  7. Maybe i am unable to find where to do it but... it seems i can't change prim type when editing a prim with build tool.
And, as i told previously, is sad I've to use two viewers to build when NiranViewer can be quite perfect if you just could add the few features missing from the build tool: the copy and paste buttons for size, position and prim characteristics and a larger view for prim contents. The prim content view in original build tool was already too much small, in NV it is incredibly small. None ever thought to make it resizeable? And I quote Charles for the embedded AO. Viewer's embedded AOs are less laggy and more powerful than inworld ones. They have multi-animation for every states, random/sequential, easier to add new animations, easier to remove unwanted animations while using. And a good developer can expand them adding in example visual description of the current playing animation, support for dances, special gesture animation triggerable via panel and so on.

    2. resizing would be one idea, but it would break the whole floater, beeing able to resize it would mean you would resize the whole floater with all its panels, creating lots of empty , crap looking space. I got a similar problem with the prefs panel, its due to Second Life´s way of handling the UI size, usually the UI size is fixed to a given resolution. In SL this isnt the case , everyone can decide of their UI size creating nearly endless resolution and UI size combinations making it nearly impossible to create a correct UI for all sizes. Thats why my prefs will never look as perfect as other game´s prefs do (resizing with resolution and always look the same size etc)

    3. For the build tool you could do two panels side by side, one, the master, with the main commands and icons and one, the slave, with the prim content, resizeable, instead to have it as a normal tabbed panel. I don't know if it can be possible but was VERY useful to have too, near each row of the content, icons reporting the permission of each object.
And talking about this, everyone knows that, when we was using xstreet boxes to sell in marketplace, was easy to set permissions for products with several objects (in example clothes) because we had to put everything inside a box. But with Direct Delivery when i want to sell a dress made by several parts, using the "Wear it now" it is very boring to set the permission for each part of the dress in inventory. Is it possible to have a new feature where I can select several objects from inventory and set their permission all at once (a mass permission setting like the one in builder tool)? And to have a column in inventory showing the permission for each object (with a check boxes to set them) eventually user can disable/enable it from the inventory menu.

However i like you and linden doesn't add AO since i am writing and i will sell a tool that has an advanced AO embedded. I have hope to sell some of them before it will become a standard feature.

  8. I had a problem today where the viewer decided it would be a good idea to reverse the direction every sound was coming from in my 7.1 surround sound headphones. Not sure if relogging fixed it or not, but it hasn't done it since then.

    1. No wait, it keeps doing it even though relogging fixes it.

    1. Some day stuff will go into LL from Exodus. Which will then also be in my Viewer. If an AO ever happens to go official. I will implement it, otherwise. No.

  10. sourceforge has a limited amount of space. its time to dowload your old unbroken ones and delete everything from sourceforge except the very first and very last versions, and maybe a beta once in a while

  11. Hello, I use this viewer quite a bit for snapshots and BERDAVmarine video commercials, the previous version I used (a few versions old) was able to see the "chrome" of the vessels correctly while I had deferred rendering on (I run it fulltime) The new (beta) version I cannot see a checkbox to allow "Windlight Shiny" or a place to enable this feature - so now the prims textures all appear white, as with some of the older viewers I had used in the past, once shadows were enabled. Is there something I am missing? or a setting I can change somewhere? Thanks for all your wonderful work, by far my most used and favorite viewer of ALL time!

    1. The Option to enable Windlight Shiny in Deferred Rendering has been removed because its a graphical downgrade which i cannot and will not support , may come whoever wants. Deferred Shiny will stay as it was since years in my Viewer.
