Wow so fast. Give us a break lol.
ReplyDeleteNah, is nice to see that you update things so fast.
I just noticed that often you need fix little things of a version you just made few days before. Dont you think you could name the version as "beta" and after some of them, make an "official release". This could give a better idea of what people is downloading or wait a bit more if they dont want every little feature tweaked. Idk.. just an idea.
Thanks for your job, dont give up ;)
I love playing with every little tweak :) You give me reason to live! hahaha
ReplyDeletewhole Second Life is a beta , and i were too long in Beta to start this again now , but yea depending on the situation i update pretty fast , especially when i implemented new stuff and it didnt work as i want , its... well you know , people start it up , it doesnt work right and give up , so i have to fix it as quickly as possible to eliminate the eventuallity of people taking that "broken" release
ReplyDeleteWanted to mention a couple of bugs I've been having with this release (but not with the previous one)-
ReplyDelete• crashing on taking snapshots even into a new, empty folder. Always crashes with ctrl+`, only crashes sometimes when using the snapshot button. I've had this issue with official LL releases but not any other TPVs.
• When saving a texture from my inventory to my computer, the save dialog sometimes takes up to 5 minutes to open, even into an empty folder. Sometimes textures won't save even after that (clicking the save button in the dialog does nothing), and when clicking cancel the viewer crashes.
• Also experiencing crashing about every 2-3 hours, just a silent CTD with no warning beforehand.
• Newly created sculpties default to plane stitching and I'm unable to change them to anything else without switching to a different viewer. The stitching type dropdown just does nothing.
As a builder and someone who takes a lot of snaps, these things make the viewer pretty much unusable for me, which sucks because otherwise I absolutely love it, and get about 20FPS more than I do with other viewers. I love love the new edit window.
Hardware:
Radeon HD 4870
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black 3.20 GHz
8GB RAM
Windows 7 64-bit
#1 , 2 and 3 sounds like out of memory which shouldnt be with 64bit version
ReplyDelete#4 is a bug i introduced >.> will fix that...sorry
...sorry for beeing so fucking stupid , when i merged my UI over part by part from Kirstens i also merged my old stitching type dropdown which is outdated since 3-4 months now... None and Mesh both arnt available anymore and all others are broken... its fixed now , expect it to be included in next update
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought it seemed like a memory issue, but I'm using the 64-bit exe, 64-bit windows, and have plenty of ram, so I'm not sure what's up. Am glad to hear about the stitching type fix!
ReplyDeleteOh one other thing I wanted to mention- I noticed that I'm unable to turn in place, with either WASD or the mouse. Is there any way to turn that back on? I don't have much need to turn the camera like that, I just use alt+click.
see the videos in 1.23.5 post for the camera options
ReplyDeleteNice update, thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello NiranV, First, gratz for take the step and create this viewer, very nicely done, smooth and great for machinima. However, I hope you dont mind if I report a bug here:
ReplyDelete- Crashing to desktop when disabeling the UI, with the shortchut CTRL-ALT-F1 and even using the menu.
Hardware:
- AMD Phenom II X4 965 at 3.4 ghz.
- 8 Gigabytes RAM Patriot DDR3 DC mode Engaged.
- ATI Radeon 5770 RV840 1gb.
- Seagate Barracuda 1 T.
- Gigabyte GA-MA785GMPT-UD2H - SB700
Hope it helps.
Sorry, I forgot:
DeleteI use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits edition
might be linked to your ATI card , which a lot of problems are atm
ReplyDeletepink upper bodys , pink world , now crashing while using menu or hiding UI and other stuff...
ahhh ok... Well... I guess thats the reason. I will wait for an update then, or if i can help somehow with any beta for try in the ATI card, dont hesitate to contact me. Cheers and greets!
Deletei released 1.27 (blogpost will follow soon) which contains a lot of AMD GPU crash fixes and pink texture fix for upper body all of them "potential" so no promises , grab it at sourceforge as soon as sourceforge activates the Download Link
