PLEASE NOTE THAT I'M NOT GOING TO UPDATE THIS ANYMORE FOR QUITE SOME TIME, PROBABLY UNTIL CHRISTMAS OR NEXT YEAR SINCE I'M BUSY PLAYING STARBOUND UNTIL I'M JUST A BRAINDEAD ZOMBIE. YOU SHOULD REALLY CHECK THIS AWESOME GAME OUT!
Here we go again!
I got some small but AWESOME changes for you!
User Interface:
I fixed the version history link in Login screen (Release Notes), changed several Panels especially People which was a bit too broad by default and i fixed Notices missing the "send" button.
First noticable changes are probably the (again) changed loadingscreens and the general redo of the loadingscreen which will now nicely slide out that "Cancel" button when the TP or login is done.
Mouselook:
THIS.
For those who are blind, your body is no longer locked to your camera which was always locked at the center of your Avatar. This changes NAO. Your camera is always locked to your HEAD that means if your Avatar runs around, you (your camera) will do too! also, animations now have a way greater impact on your Mouselook feel, they will add bobbing n stuff depending on your animation ofcourse. Please note that this is prone to bug out completely on totally unrealistic and spastic animations like doing 10 flips to walk around.
Suggestion: Use this feature in combination with Mouselook Smoothing.
You can find the option to toggle this feature off in Preferences - Camera - Mouselook Options.
Also fixed forever shall now be attachments bugging out in Mouselook, ever seen when your weapons or hand attachments move wierdly away from where they should be when going into Mouselook and especially when crouching? FIXED! So much thanks to Adeon Writer for this fix.
Windlight:
I added all the old Windlight presets minus my own "Realistic" ones since they were designed for pre-Exodus Post Render.
Snapshots:

Cleanup: Misc changes.
Hi Niran
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fixes but still unable to change the cache location from it's default, and don't want it there. Also I would like to point out (probably not your fault at all) that the gpu_table changes the R9 200 series to the wrong thing, thus making it unable to even do vertex shaders. I have had to use the (hates saying this) the line from the firestorm gpu table which is..
AMD Radeon R9 200 Series .*ATI.*(Radeon|ASUS).* R9 200.* 5 1 0 4.2
Please copy as is if it's any help to anyone. Still thinking that really for reasons I don't know the HD7770 renders SL better than this card which shouldn't be the case.
So far everything else is fine, still loving the progress and this viewer
Angel
Fixed. Please Download 2.3.9.1 if you have these mentioned problems.
DeleteI noticed last night that the GPU table still reverted to the ATI Radeon R9 200 series which makes it stuck at low settings. It needs to be what I put above to make it recognize it as the AMD Radeon R9 200 series which opens everything up.
DeleteWhy it does this and then still doesn't look as good as older cards has me confused but since I don't understand what the table does etc etc, then I don't know who should fix it and I'm pretty sure it's not Niran.
I didn't post this till now cause I didn't want to wake Niran up again. The other fix works like a charm, and can't find anything else really wrong yet, except groups chats are still crap as hell but then I think nearly all SL users would faint if they actually worked properly
Wonderful viewer Niran :D
Hi Niran (Hope I didn't wake you)
DeleteI don't know if my last post went through but I just thought I would mention that when downloading it, you need to make sure that you point the extractor in the right direction, else it will install it to your default download location.
Are you saying that your problem solved itself because you just installed the new version into a wrong directory?
DeleteAbout your GPU problem, i added the line you posted. Not sure what you did but i just added it, might be wrong since it sounds like i have to replace a certain GPU series instead of adding a new (i couldn't find that one)
Hi Niran
DeleteJust downloaded .2 and the same thing happens, it sets my graphics card to the ATi Radeon R9 200 series which doesn't work. The line I am adding to the GPU table is what I posted for the AMD Radeon R9 200 series.
I checked the GPU table and I can see that the line I use has been added, so not sure what the deal is. I will take a further look cause something in that table is reverting to the wrong one. Maybe it's just my system as no-one else seems to be reporting this issue.
you fixed the [CHANNEL] [VERSION] thing on the login screen, Theres a less noticeable similar one. On the Inventory file -> upload menu, costs of uploads are displayed as L$[COST]
ReplyDeleteSorry forgot to also say, I added the line AGAIN, it's in there twice, but earlier on in the GPU table and when I ran the viewer again the message comes up saying....
ReplyDelete"Display settings have been set to recommended levels because your graphics card changed from 'ATI Technologies Inc. AMD Radeon R9 200 Series' to 'AMD Radeon R9 200 Series'.
the AMD Radeon R9 200 Series is the CORRECT one, the other one defaults to the lowest settings, and I can't find it in the list. I will have a good look for it, see where it's getting it from, but it's a minor issue I think.
Thank Niran for your fast work, just not sure if it's happening to just me for now.
Downloaded and upon trying to install, it says its running in the background but nothing happens other than my cursor hanging at a loading animation. Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteDid you try restarting your computer? Maybe it froze in background and doesn't want to start for some odd reason. Maybe Windows focus managment is just bugging. You could also try unpacking it with a different application like 7zip or WinZIP or try unpacking it with WinRar itself if nothing else works.
DeleteWorks nicely on my machine -- thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI was using in the R9 280X Radeon.
ReplyDeleteIn order to prevent the settings are from becoming the hardware for unidentified, we use it to be recognized as HD7970 Radeon by rewriting the BIOS.
You have successfully After writing the BIOS of the following GV-R928XOC-3GD.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I have sent twice without notice...
no prob.
DeleteHi Niran. I've found a lot of really cool music in Second Life and I was wondering if you could activate the "Show Title/Artist information when songs change" option.(it's checked and it doesn't work along with "Allow Media to auto-play") its one of the reasons I come to SL and it's nice to know what songs are playing. thanks
ReplyDeleteNext Update if i don't forget.
DeleteAwesome. can you throw in a spell check for us lousy spellers too ? ☺
DeleteI think a pair of glasses would be better, you don't seem to be a lousy speller, more like blind like a mole.
DeletePreferences - Chat - Spellchecker Settings (scroll all the way down)
Loving the viewer, and apart from a few things which I think are limited to my PC, or at least my graphics card I am happy BUT, I am getting annoyed at one thing and it's beyond a joke.
ReplyDeleteThe TOOLTIPS - that doesn't wait 20 sec of mouse hover BEFORE they show up, nooooooo, they show up instantly, and then when you right click BLOCK/OBSCURE what is beneath the tooltip, sorry but changing the fade in, fade out, tooltip delay just isn't cutting it. SO is there a way I can simply turn them off?, remove them?, something as to be honest when hovering over my inventory I really don't need a tooltip telling me what the object is I'm hovering over, I can already read it.
Sorry for the wall of text but it's pissing me off so much.
Angel
Theres an option somewhere but i think its not in Preferences, you'll have to look into Debug Settings i guess.
DeleteHey there Niran,
ReplyDeleteI got a issue with this new update im trying to find out what that issue
is i hope you can help me, i downloaded 2.3.9.2 Maintenance Update
when i log in everything flickrs when i uncheck vertext shader
it stops flickring im also not getting any shadows and it looks
like low graphics depht of field and those greyscales dont work
aswell everything worked fine for me with the version
black dragon (2.3.2) all the newer updates after that did the same
with the flickr etc. So i was wondering if its my graphic card
or perhaps something else ?
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (2793.18 MHz)
Memory: 6104 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601)
Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 260/PCIe/SSE2
Your system (probably GPU) has a problem with the new shaders used since the implementation of the new particle render system. I will need your crashlogs. Log in, do some stuff, enable Vertex Shaders, Deferred and stuff and upload your log somewhere where i can take a look into it. In meantime you could also take a look at drivers, they may be outdated or even too new if you recently updated them.
DeleteAs i guessed already, a shader issue. Not sure if i can fix it, try out the official Second Life Viewer and see if the same happens there, if not i will have a further investigation what might be causing this shader compiling issue.
DeleteHey Niran,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your quick responds i did not recently
updated any drivers tho i did try to update the graphic
driver after i saw the flickring on the latest black dragon
viewer but that did not fixed the problem i uploaded
the logfile on the following link so that you can see for
yourself what the problem may be and i uploaded a picture
with it so that u perhaps can see more what the issue is with the flickring etc.

I hope to hear soon from you.
Hallo again niran,
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the newest official secondlife viewer
as you requested no issue there everything works perfect graphics
shadows i even put it on (graphics ultra) no problem on the
official secondlife viewer. So the shader issue on blackdragon
2.3.9.2 Maintenance Update #4 also causes the depth of field,
shadows, graphics, greyscales to fail? i hope it will get fixed (-_-)
I'll have a look someday, when i'm back at continueing my Viewer.
DeleteHey Niran,
Deletealright much appreciated
im looking forward to the new update
of your viewer
