Uh what is this?
It's an UPDATE!!!111!!
And it's highly experimental, i know you like these because these usually come with really awesome stuff, hence why they are experimental.
This time with major UI changes, Godrays toggle, Motion Blur, SLShare2, bugfixes, NEW and IMPROVED grey scale, sepia and posterize post effects, re-added light source reflections on water and much more! Keep in mind tho, this is an highly experimental in-between update, it is far from done and it is the first step to 2.4.
Some additional info for you:
Motion Blur is enabled by default, it only works with enabled Deferred Rendering (doesn't need Ambient Occlusion or Shadows). You can visit my Viewer bunker to watch it in action. Hippo Hollow
The new Snapshot floater design is 90% mine, the functionality behind it with post effects and stuff is Lindens.
There is a Godray toggle now as well as fine tuning options for both Godrays and Motionblur, try them out and tell me what you think.
The UI and Skin are both highly WIP, nothing is set in stone and many things are still missing.
It does not include Project Interesting (yet).
Known Bugs:
- Possible AMD Shader compiling issues (still).
Very nice. you may want to take a look at this but ive noticed friend name colors don't change at all.
ReplyDeleteThey do, disable Name Tags and then re-enable them or do it the classic way -> relog.
DeleteThanks for another nice looking update, Have yet too find any bugs, and the New layout works nicely, if in my opinion it might be a bit too.. Black <.< is that even possible. but as you said the UI is a WIP so i cant wait to see how it turns out :)
ReplyDeleteLiking the work so far. Not really found anything except I'm lagging somewhat, but that might be a setting I have messed up. Love the top bar look, except for not seeing where I am etc, BUT since it's a WIP then it looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteI like how the IM your currently viewing stays lit, and how things have the red edge (any chance we could have the option to pick a colour for the edges :P)
Looking good as always
Hoping the next iteration brings back the top bar functionality. Not being able to quickly access windlight settings and favourites is annoying, but not being able to access my avatar coordinates is an absolute deal breaker for a builder. I already have to switch to another viewer for complex building because Black Dragon lacks some seriously must-have build tools, this makes the problem worse by forcing me to relog for much more mundane things, like setting up simple teleporters.
ReplyDeleteCTRL + M (Map). It shows your coordinates. Also yes, the next iteration will have the Navbar back, still trying to work out a proper way.
DeleteIf you're setting up more than one or two teleporters, using the map for coordinates gets real tedious and time consuming real fast. The same goes for trying to keep an eye on prim usage without the quickbutton for parcel info, or sim hopping without the favourites bar.
DeleteOn a side note, the dark red text on the black background, like in the Outfits panel) is difficult to read and I couldn't find a way to change that particular colour. Found the panel for changing most every other colour in the viewer, but that didn't seem to be among them. And the hotkey for a second inventory window hasn't worked for several versions now.
All that said, Black Dragon is still by far my favourite viewer. Keep it up!
I am really enjoying the viewer so far. I like where you are going with it. I like the features added together in the snapshot window, but i miss being able to have an image in the snapshot window to show how i have it lined up. Is this gone for good?
ReplyDeleteClick the looooooooong button on the right of the Snapshot floater, it will extend it to show the preview. I should fix it being ticked off by default.
DeleteThanks Niran. Clicked and that is awesome! Love it and not sure I would change the default.
