Alrighty!
Another update, more important changes! Post Processing should work again (if you use Tonemapping) and changing the camera angle should hopefully no longer crash... i implemented a workaround that hopefully fixes this. Someone also suggested to add the Tonemap Exposure option... so here it is!
Can't edit or adjust the poses of others
ReplyDeleteSadly not. ~ decided and enforced by Linden Labs.
DeleteThat's a pity, that would be really cool
Deletei have the 5.3.0 version. how do i update the new version?
ReplyDeleteYou go download the new one from the link on the right.
DeleteCan you turn black dragon back into the old version and just update it with PBR pls. We all begging for it
ReplyDeletePlease don't. The latest version is great, far superior to the old versions.
DeleteHe can at least reput black dragon 4.0 to 4.3 versions back up for a limited of time so people can get and take it back off because not everybody like the newer versions
DeleteThat's... not how this works.
DeleteTaking the "old version" and simply updating it with PBR is exactly what this is. I made no changes other than updating it to PBR. Everything that broke broke because of PBR, everything that is now gone has been removed because it broke and i couldn't fix it.
The "old" stuff is not compatible with the "new" stuff, it requires rewriting the shaders in a very specific way, which is something i haven't yet had enough time to figure out how their new shaders work and connect with each other... let alone how the code-side works as they updated the rendering in basically every place imaginable. They practically swapped out everything.
And no, i'm not putting older versions back up unless there is an extreme emergency, which so far has never been the case to my knowledge. I do not support old versions or staying on them, it creates confusion and makes my job a million times harder and more confusing, its hard enough managing a hundred different versions as is with people being scattered all over the versions of the past 2 years. I do not need to add onto that by giving them out and splitting people up even more, its a debugging nightmare and bad enough that most issues people have are simply fixed by updating, yet they get reported even 2 years after release.
If and when the sun sets, time comes to an end and the Viewer dies, i will release 4.3.2, and possibly every single other version i have (for historical purposes). Until then, no.
A lot of us just want the older versions 3.8 to 3.9. They looked way more realistic, a lot of us don’t care about the PBR at all. We just want to be able to redownload it once and keep it. It’s nothing wrong with that.
DeleteWhat are these people complaining about? As an owner of a mid-range computer with low-end hardware, I can say that the latest version is extremely easy to use. Before this version, I was using older versions, pre-PBR. However, with this latest version, I was able to stop using the old version, as it is the best since PBR came out.
DeleteNobody complaining. Majority of us just want him to put the old versions back on there so we be able to redownload and keep. He don’t have to delete the new versions just to reput the old versions on there.
DeleteI'm just glad you're willing to put in the time coding this thing. Turns out, over the years, almost every feature you wanted and therefore created, was something I wanted too. I'm a unix/linux sysadmin, and as such I'm a damn good scripter but I'm not a coder. I can look at c and c++ code, understand it and work out why it isn't building right in my environment and fix that but I'm not on the level of the developers I've worked alongsidr the last four decades. My "happy place" is in shell scripting. perl and maybe a little python.
DeleteSo, be very certain I KNOW how much effort you're putting in to this project, how many times your head has hit your desk after LL drop an update that borks a year of effort on your part.
Keep on keeping on - it's worth it. Latest version is fine, and if it crashes in a reproducible manner I'll stick in a bug report :)
Is there a way to turn off the pose in the edit shape and appearance?
ReplyDeletePreferences - Camera , there's an option to turn the camera on appearance entering, this also controls the animation.
