And we're back with a new update!
The update's focus (as expected) is on the WIP animation creator.
With this update it gets a couple QoL enhancements as well as a very important (hopefully working) bugfix for animations getting corrupted but i shall go more into detail in the update video below.
When will we be able to upload models on dragon? Like mesh models instead of having to go back to firestorm
ReplyDeleteMesh Upload is not coming for reasons you shouldn't use Firestorm to upload either. The official Viewer is the way to go for mesh upload and it is always the most recent. Third parties add on top of that and have in the past caused issues with mesh uploads. Technically this can happen to anything but mesh in particular is very very complex and unlike other uploads like sounds, animations and textures they are far less restrictive, so small errors in meshes, corruptions or just different ways to handle meshes can lead to them being uploaded in ways that can in worst case crash Viewers (has happened in the past). The only way to somewhat ensure that your mesh upload is functioning exactly as "intended" by Linden Labs and you as TPV dev are not responsible for another wave of corrupted meshes is by being absolutely up-to-date with the latest Viewer code at all times, using the Havok license (costs a lot of money) or a sublicense (you can get it from LL) and never ever remotely touching the upload code and/or mesh decomposer, any change or deviation can cause issues.
DeleteAre you ever going to add a a " Classic Gui?" for us old school operators?
ReplyDeleteAs much as i'd like to add different skins (and themes) maintaining one functionally is a lot of work.
DeleteAlso the Classic UI (i assume you refer to Viewer 1 style UI, whatever that may include) works mechanically the same, there is very little difference between how V1 and V2 UI works, the biggest difference is in the layout and that is a fixed thing i'm not going to change, i do not like Classic UI layout, including it as extra option is not viable either for the above reason, unless someone makes (and maintains) a public skin and shares it for inclusion (kinda like Starlight skins were)
hey there! thank you for all you do for the SL community! I love the viewer, I just wanted to ask about the saving of the animations /poses as i saw somewhere you post a photo of being able to save them as .anims rather than .xml files but I have the latest BD viewer and cannot see how to do this as just are saved directly as XML without option to change to ANIM. Many thanks Niran! <3
ReplyDeleteYou can find the new Pose Creator allowing export to .ANIM in Dragon - My Useful Features - Pose Creator (right above Poser).
Deletethank you! is it possible to then upload those animations to second life? When i have tried it comes up with 'invalid hierarchy file' so i wonder if i am doing something wrong.

ReplyDeleteHello in version 4.3.2.exe
I am not able to record sena before Ctrl+shift C
in mine it does not work do you know if it is necessary to enable any option
I have used different settings to render in all objects including my own avatar. The avatar shows as a cloud and no texture is displayed properly. I've tried different settings and also went back to default but still nothing. How can I get everything functioning back to normal?
ReplyDeleteThat usually happens when either your avatar is corrupt (a body part most commonly the shape is broken) or when the Viewer is stuck on texture decoding for some reason.
DeleteYou could try switching to the male/female test avatar to see if that fixes it.
It mess my viewer in All ways!
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to download this version back
ReplyDeleteNo.
