Black Dragon is MY Viewer, i decide which feature i want to add and which to remove, i share this Viewer to show the world that user base size is not important, i do rate quality by effort, thought and love put into the project, not some rough estimated numbers. I consider feature requests only if i you can name proper valid reasons i can agree on. It is my (unpaid) time i'm putting into this project, i'm not here to cater to every Joe's desires.

Black Dragon 64x - Alpha 3 "Bit Dragon"

So after 3 failed and missed upload attempts i'm just uploading update 3 instead. Have fun, tiny changes, most important for you is the fixed named of the executable. Other change is i removed the internal texture/scene memory limits, you can go beyond 1992m now but only in debug settings for those that want to test it out. If you do so please keep a VERY CLOSE look at your framerate and report if it has any impact on your framerate. Thanks.

  1. I read so much nice stuff about your viewer and really would love to try it. Problem is I am not too good with my Linux system, I installed pip, but installing autobuild is my next hurdle, this is what I did and got back:
    ~ $ sudo -H pip install 'hg+https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/autobuild-1.1#egg=autobuild'
    Collecting autobuild from hg+https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/autobuild-1.1#egg=autobuild
    Cloning hg https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/autobuild-1.1 to /tmp/pip-build-DGFpix/autobuild
Error [Errno 2] No such file or directory while executing command hg clone --noupdate -q https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/autobuild-1.1 /tmp/pip-build-DGFpix/autobuild
    Cannot find command 'hg'

    without using hg:
    ~ $ sudo -H pip install 'https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/autobuild-1.1#egg=autobuild'
    Collecting autobuild from https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/autobuild-1.1#egg=autobuild
    Downloading https://bitbucket.org/lindenlab/autobuild-1.1 (54kB)
    100% |████████████████████████████████| 61kB 514kB/s
Cannot unpack file /tmp/pip-8Mf9nG-unpack/autobuild-1.1 (downloaded from /tmp/pip-build-HZ193E/autobuild, content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8); cannot detect archive format
Cannot determine archive format of /tmp/pip-build-HZ193E/autobuild

    Help please?

    1. I'm really sorry about that but i absolutely cannot help you with that, i have never had Linux (i'm literally too stupid to install it). Thing is, depending on if you tried to compile 32bit or 64bit you might have vastly differing milestones of success. 64bit is completely new and caused a lot of trouble for Windows, i imagine it being complete hell for Linux/Mac and probably not functional at the moment. The 32bit version is unknown if its capable to be compiled for Linux at this moment since i don't compile for Linux and don't know if any of my changes haven't broken it. For me this sounds like an issue with a missing variable (the first one) and the second one being an issue with either a missing unpacking app or LL's autobuild package. Your best bet would be asking via mail in the opensource dev discussion mail lists, they might be able to help you.:

  2. @Anna..Perhaps you could take a look at what Henri Beauchamp did to get Cool VL Viewer 64bit Linux compatible to see the path you may need to take ?
